S’s Ambulance Wish was to spend time with his mum in her new aged care facility

On the 19th of August 2026, S’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when he visited his mum at her new aged care facility. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Southern Adelaide Palliative Service.

S travelled past his home on the way to see his mum in the Wish vehicle. He then travelled to his mother’s new aged care facility, where he was reunited with his mother. She warmly welcomed him, saying “It is like you’ve brought a million dollars for me!”. Together, they enjoyed a cappuccino, coke and food, sharing a simple but precious afternoon in each other’s company, with smiles that never seemed to leave either of them.

S listening to his favourite singer, Rod Stewart on his way back. He described the experience as “a big day for me”, adding, “I enjoy that. That was great.”
