Ambulance Wish South Australia

The purpose of the Ambulance Wish South Australia program is simple: to give South Australian’s living with a life-limiting condition access to the planning, coordination, transport, photography and clinical care they need to fulfill their special wish and create memories that last forever.

At the end stage of life, it is often the simple things that matter most – a visit home, one last sunset, a cuddle with their pet, professional photos with their loved ones or a recreation of a favourite memory.

How did the program start?

The Ambulance Wish South Australia program has been under development since 2021. Palliative Care South Australia and St John SA have been been working with other community organisations and agencies to develop the program. In 2023 a formal collaboration was formed
between Palliative Care SA, St John SA, Flinders University, with PCSA as the lead agency. In 2024 the SA Health Minister agreed to provide 2.5 years of seed funding to support 30% of the program costs.

All Ambulance Wishes are FREE, however the volume of wishes that can be fulfilled is dependent on donations, bequests, fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Do you have a wish?

We can either take you to your wish or bring a wish to you. If you have a wish that you would like Ambulance Wish South Australia to fulfill and you meet our criteria listed on our website, talk to your specialist palliative care service and ask them to send through a Wish request.

It takes a village to fulfill Ambulance Wishes. Become part of one of South Australia’s newest charity programs, and join a team of passionate volunteers!

How can I support this program?

Ambulance Wish SA cannot help South Australian’s in their last days, weeks or months of life without the generous support of people, communities and companies. Make a tax deductible donation or hold a fundraiser. We’re also looking for corporate partners, philanthropists or companies who would like to identify us as their charity of choice.
