Brett’s Ambulance Wish was to visit the elephants at Monarto Safari Park
On the 25th March 2025, Brett’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when he visited the elephants at Monarto Safari Park.
Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network made a special wish come true, creating memories that last forever for Brett and his loved ones.
Brett travelled to Monarto Safari Park in the Wish Ambulance with his wife Wendy. The Wish Ambulance was escorted right up to the ‘elephant barn’ where Permai’s keeper was waiting. Brett was able to stand and talk to Permai, and feed her. They shared watermelon together!
Brett cared for Permai almost 30 years ago at Perth Zoo. After 30 years of no contact, it was a magical experience to witness and for Brett to experience – the bond between keeper and animal lived on. He shared many heart-warming memories and thoughts, as well as some amusing anecdotes.
An emotional Brett loved every minute of his wish: “A lifetime of memories”
Thank you to our wonderful Ambulance Wish Team Shari, Nick, Sarah, Alicia, Jo, Poonam and Lauren for fulfilling this special wish and our photographer, for creating memories that last forever.
