John’s Ambulance Wish was to eat oysters at the Oyster Bar
On the 7th of February 2025, John’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when he ate oysters at the Oyster Bar. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Northern Adelaide Palliative Care Service made a special wish come true, creating memories that last forever for John and his loved ones.
John and his wife Wendy travelled to the Oyster Bar at Holdfast Shores in the Wish Ambulance, where they met his brother Robin and his wife Joy. John and his family dined outside, with a family member remarking that they had an excellent day and that it was so lovely to see how much John enjoyed being there.
John’s last visit to Coffin Bay was in September 2024, when he went with other friends, Gary and Sandra, who couldn’t make the Wish lunch. They all enjoyed sharing lovely memories of that time with them at Coffin Bay over many years.
An emotional John said the whole day was a highlight: “The wish was brilliant, the care and attention from everyone was amazing. The restaurant manager was excellent and Wendy really enjoyed her prawns.”
