June’s Ambulance Wish was to meet a koala
On the 24th of January 2025, June’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when she spent time meeting a koala. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Northern Adelaide Palliative Care Service, made a special wish come true, creating memories that last forever for June.
June travelled to Cleland Wildlife Park in the Wish Ambulance where she met Flo (Florence), an 8-year-old koala. June was delighted to have an up-close and personal encounter with Flo, patting her on her back and feeding her eucalyptus leaves. June’s face lit up when she was gifted her very own soft-toy ‘koala’ to take home.
A koala lover, June had only ever seen them from a distance in the trees near her home. Meeting one up close had always been a dream.
June shared this cherished outing with her friend and carer, Amanda. The smiles on the faces of June, Amanda, the Wish Team, and the Cleland Wildlife Park staff made the day even more special. “My favourite part was that I got to pat the koala!” said June, her joy shining through.
