South Australian Government Announces Four More Years of Funding for Ambulance Wish SA

The South Australian Government has announced renewed funding for Ambulance Wish SA, securing the program for another four years and ensuring more South Australians living with a life‑limiting illness can experience a meaningful final wish.

Ambulance Wish SA is delivered in partnership by Palliative Care SA, St John Ambulance SA and Flinders University. Together, our teams support people at end of life to visit a place that matters, reconnect with someone important, or simply enjoy a moment of comfort and dignity. Wishes range from quiet time at home, to a visit to the beach, to reunions with loved ones, to special experiences that create lasting memories for families.

The Government’s commitment of $100,000 per year for four years will allow the program to continue providing specialist transport, planning, coordination and clinical support at no cost to recipients or their families.

We welcome this announcement and thank the South Australian Government and the Minister for Health and Wellbeing Hon. Chris Picton MP for recognising the impact of Ambulance Wish SA and supporting its continuation.
