Bob’s Ambulance Wish was to meet his beloved Glenelg Tigers
On 28 May 2026, Bob’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when he met four Glenelg Tigers players, Darcy Bailey, Connor McLeod, Hugh Stagg and Jake Walker. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service, made his special wish come true, creating memories that will last forever for Bob and his loved ones.
Bob was joined by his wife Helen and his parents for the visit. Together, they spent a lovely afternoon with the players, sharing laughs as the players spoke about funny moments from training and stories about life within the team.
The players also brought along a Glenelg Tigers guernsey signed by the team, and they signed Bob’s beanie and a photo, giving him some special keepsakes from the day.
The players asked Bob about his favourite way to celebrate a goal. Bob chose the double horn celebration, and the players promised that when Glenelg kicked their first goal at the next match, the whole team would do the double horn in his honour.
Bob and his family loved every minute of the visit, sharing stories, laughter, and special moments with the players.
