Angela’s Ambulance Wish was to see pandas at Adelaide Zoo

On the 1st of October 2026, Angela’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when she saw pandas at Adelaide Zoo. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Southern Adelaide Palliative Service, made a special wish come true, creating memories that will last forever for Angela and her loved ones.

Angela travelled to Adelaide Zoo in the Wish Ambulance, joined by her close friend Deb. Even the rain could not dampen her excitement as she finally saw her favourite animals in person. Angela’s love of pandas began with her very first teddy, a panda named “Panda”. Despite visiting China three times, she had never seen pandas in person, making this a lifelong wish come true.

During the panda experience, Angela watched Yi Lan (the panda) explore her enclosure and happily munch on carrots and “panda cakes”. A particularly special moment came when Yi Lan settled against a comfortable rock near the window, looking back over her shoulders towards Angela.

“How gorgeous they are,” Angela kept saying as she watched.” The team described her as peaceful and overjoyed—a lifelong wish had finally come true.
