V’s Ambulance Wish was to return home and visit her favourite beach

On the 30th of September, V’s Ambulance Wish was fulfilled when she returned home and visited her favorite Grange Beach with her family. Ambulance Wish South Australia, in partnership with Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service, made her special wish come true, creating memories that will last forever for V and her loved ones.

At home, V settled into her own chair, surrounded by her husband, daughters and granddaughters. “Home is her safe place,” her granddaughter shared. The family enjoyed homemade curry puffs and pineapple snow cake, a family favourite, alongside camellias from V’s garden.

Cherished heirloom rings were passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. One granddaughter also recreated a memory from her wedding day by helping V put on her lipstick – A special moment for the family’s “Lipstick Queen”.

At the beach, V’s face lit up at the sight of the sea and jetty. With her daughters beside her and her favourite classical music playing, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the breeze.

“I’ve had a lovely day,” V said. When asked what the best part had been, her answer was simple: “Family.”
